“Hello everyone, this time I was invited by Huion Technology to launch this tutorial for beginners to solve difficult problems. First, I’m glad that there appears another domestic manufacturer who supply graphic tablet to comic lovers. Their new graphic tablet K28 has excellent performance. Compared with other tablets I used before, 580 has better brushstrokes. Welcome to experience it.”

Many beginners are afraid of perspective and do not understand perspective. But in fact, perspective is as simple as one plus one. Perspective is not that difficult as long as your dimensional feeling is not too bad.

So people who are afraid of perspective have devil inside. Devil inside is afraid of the unknown. The author tries to break all kinds of beginners’ devil inside, because only when the devil inside is broke, the beginners creativity can be expressed perfectly.

What is perspective? In fact, perspective is an objective existence object. Our eyes just like camera lens watches things from a shouting distance to a great distance. It is unnecessary to explain the definition of perspective, because perspective is objective existence. In fact, for painters, you, I and he are all objective existence. Since you draw a person, it must be similar, because people are objective existence, so everyone will compare your draw with reality.

What is perspective? In fact, perspective is an objective existence of a thing.

So when you want to draw a street, from the concept of generalized, as long as your drawing looks like a street. That will be good. It is unnecessary to care about perspective.

Perspective is a technique used to test and measure after you finish drawing.

For example;

If I want to draw a picture like the picture above, the first step is drawing. Draw out the draft following my thought and feeling.

In order to make the picture more accuracy, I will use perspective to test my picture after I finish drawing draft.

Of course, you can lay the perspective lines before drawing the draft. But I have a question.

There are two drafts above A and B. If you are a painter, which one will you choose?

When you have a concept in your mind, you will draw out picture B, is that possible? Obviously, it is impossible.

So, it is putting the cart before the horse if the beginners are afraid of perspective.

In fact, perspective is draft. Only when you finish the conception, can you get the validation rules.

If you feel good, it is unnecessary to use perspective lines every time.

Some times, too strict perspective lines are not good. The focus of our eyes is not fixed absolutely, so readers’ feeling have an acceptation range. That is to say we can accept an inaccurate perspective to some degree.

So, it is ok that you know perspective generally.

Next, we will talk about something that you only need to know them generally, but we will talk about it from the point of composition of a picture, not the point of perspective.

First, we will talk about perspective briefly.

1. One point perspective

Suppose there is only one focus in the picture, then we can use one point perspective.

Look at the picture first.

There is a square in the picture. If there is only one focus in the picture, what the stereoscopic state will be.

We fix a point first, and then link it to other points.

Then we drew a right conclusion that how to draw other parts of the square correctly with the assist of the red lines.

In fact, we figure out the correct drawing of other parts of the square by perspective.

Then, we will integrate it into the picture to consider it.

Fox example, I want to draw a picture with on focus. The picture above is a draft.

First we need to set the focus. The focus must on the body of the person and the Visual Borizon is in the same line with focus. In fact, we only need to decide where the focus is.

It is the painter’s feeling and intuition that decide where the focus is.

According to my feeling, I put the focus here. I hope the focus is here.

Now, I can test whether the background and anything else is right.

The original sketches are not accuracy enough, now I change the background into the obverse side. We will talk about the obverse side later.

Then, I began to measure.

After measuring, I figure out the correct drawing.

The final picture.

So perspective is so simple.

One point perspective only works when you choose a picture with one focus. Besides, it is just for validation. It does not mean that you can not draw without knowing anything about perspective.

In fact the meaning of the picture on the right and the picture on the left is the same. There is one focus, one character and background.

The difference is that the picture on the right is rigorous, but the picture on the left is partial to imaginative style.

The most important is that the picture looks nice, but not to distort on purpose. In fact, the picture on the left also can be used, because no matter the picture on the left or the picture on the right all abide by the objective common sense: near, big, far, small. On the contrary, the picture on the right is too rigid.

Now we talk about two-point perspective. We will talk about the obverse side, which was mentioned above.

2. Two Points Perspective

We talked about the obverse side in the one point perspective. Why the obverse side must be an absolutely obverse side? In our daily life, we seldom see an absolutely obverse side unless we try to see it in a fixed angle purposely.

If it is a biased flank, we will find that in fact this side is the left side of the obverse side cube.

It is this part.

But we can only see a focus from the other side, so the observe side of the other side must be parallel, or the new cross point will appear.

If the line above and the line below are not parallel, another focus will appear.

So this is two points perspective, not one.

Only talking about square, you may feel it is simple, but still can not digest. Now let’s talk about human body.

In perspective, it is unnecessary that the human bodies are all obverse sides. But no matter from which angle, the obverse side is always obverse.

What is obverse ?You will figure that out after I draw a two points perspective human body.

Take the picture above as an example, the inboard foot is shorter than the outboard. It is the same from the other side.

In another word, there is no zooming with perspective on the horizon om one point perspective. But for there is always zooming in the two points perspective.

The zooming focus of two-point perspective is on the center line. If drawing a character on the center line and drawing the observe side, it is a little like perspective.

But if there is not center line, the character can not be draw into one point perspective. Take the following picture as an example.

We imagine that this is a corner of a street, and the diamond is building.

It is ok if the person standing here.

But it is uncomfortable if the person standing here. How to change?

It will be more comfortable, when it is changed into this (pay attention to the size and length of his feet).

Then we go back to the idea of composition.

First, the one point composition is concentrate. It seems that it is concavity.

The two-point composition is suitable to express flank. It is convex, because it is focus is a line.

In fact, our thought is not like this.

When we design a work, it first comes into my mind is the whole perceive of the picture, not the perspective.

The right and reasonable perspective rule is: A, design the picture B, setting the focus according to what you wish to emphasize.

Look at the picture below, it is easier to explain the conventional design thought.

For example, I want to draw a picture like this to express the relationship between the two people.

If I draw into this (one point perspective), what I want to emphasize is the person behind.

Though the people in the front is bigger, but the person behind is closer to the focus. So it is the person behind be emphasized.

If I draw like this (two points perspective), what I want to emphasize is the person in the front.

The perspective is the same, but the person behind is smaller, that is to say, the midcourt line of the person behind is short. So the person in the front is emphasized.

If I draw like this (two points perspective plus one point perspective), the person on the left is in the center of the one focus of two points perspective. The person on the right is on the center line.  both of the two people are emphasized.

If I draw like this (two points perspective), both of the people are not on the center line. If there is nothing in the middle, the relationship between two people is emphasized, that is the atmosphere in the middle. The flank expression will be emphasized.

If there is nothing in the middle, naturally the stuff in the middle should be emphasized.

When comes to this, you will feel that this part is the most important part in the whole picture, because examples in this part is teaching us how to design a picture from what we want to emphasize. The explanation about perspective is boring nonsense.

So perspective is not difficult at all, you only need to know it generally. Of course that is not to say it is unimportant, no need to learn. The author just wants to tell you that it is no need to be afraid of perspective. You can study it well when you have time, if you really want to learn it.

3. Three-Point Perspective

Three points perspective is putting perspective zooming on the basic of two-point perspective. This is common technique. It is better not to be so parallel for drawing. Since it is not so strict, there will be intersection point when it stretches out.

We use a simple picture to explain three points perspective at last.

In fact, in short, so called three points perspective is to put height of deformation on the two-point perspective. As for four points and five points, if you need, you can search the explanation in the internet.

Finally summed up, perspective is only a method of testing. Sometimes it is unnecessary to be so accurate in our picture.

If there are some inaccurate points about perspective in my explanation, seeing the objective world with your eyes, and draw out what you see with your intuitive feelings.

The author always draws pictures according to his experience till now. He draws every picture by general feelings, expect buildings. We are painters not designers, do not be afraid of perspective, or your thought will be trapped and your confidence will be attracted.

Huion 580 Contributing Tutorials 1 on Coloring by Oran Pig Comic Classroom

Device: Huion Tablet 580

Software: Photoshop CS4/SAI

About the artist:

Zhang Xian (Oran Pig), the first person in China to teach cutting-edge comics, revolutionist of China’s comics teaching, cartoonist, illustrator, cartoon editor, founder of popular website-Original Comics Reactor

This is mainly about beginners’ problems of the colored :

Here are two kinds:

1, the colored puzzling! The chosen color from color palette is always unsatisfied! Looks dazzling!

2, the chosen color looks dirty or over dark on the screen!

the following simple example is aim to explain the problems above in the field of PS.

[The following is organised on words tagging after picture form

(Chapter One)

Firstly, be sure to check the color before selection, and the most intuitive eyedropper is a slide block slipper inside the HSB.

http://hiphotos.baidu.com/comic520/pic/item/037dfa119313b07e48abc0bf0cd7912396dd8c87.jpg

This is the HSB slider inside the PS that can be found on the panel, normally, which located in upper right corner of the window black triangle.

HSB sliders is the most obvious on the screen!

H = hue, means what color

S = saturation, means thickness of color, or “the current color + white pigment.”

S is 0:00 means”0% the current color and 0% the white pigment and pigment  + 100%”This situation indicates that NO adding color except for white pigment. We can choose color by pressing H.

B = Brightness, can be regarded as a combination of H and S, controllfing about black pigment. It works the way as S.

The following are three questions relating to the use of HSB:

1, which color? It depends on H

2, light or thick color? This depends on S.

3,bright or dark color? This depends on B.

If we want a light blue, then I would choose the H at the “blue”, S at the election such as “50” (the chosen color50% + white paint pigment 50%), and since it is light blue, not for dash area, then B value can be “100”.

Note: A simple color, which itself is the brightest, it will be darken with black. However, adding white pigment makes the chosen color more light rather than brighter.

http://hiphotos.baidu.com/comic520/pic/item/30738bcec3fdfc037a1d730fd43f8794a5c226b4.jpg

1, Let’s take a line as a example.

http://hiphotos.baidu.com/comic520/pic/item/68ddd022720e0cf38b93de4c0a46f21fbf09aab5.jpg

2, Assuming that I have set this yellow as basic color for facial complexion, if we want shadows, how to do it?

http://hiphotos.baidu.com/comic520/pic/item/a161756d55fbb2fb1155c8a54f4a20a44723dc9f.jpg

3, In the case of sustaining H and S, if we add black pigment in the original color, the picture would turn out to be dirty. No adding black! Our failures on the color can be blamed to this. The following shows us how deal with these failures

http://hiphotos.baidu.com/comic520/pic/item/63df07c2d56285354699429690ef76c6a6ef6398.jpg

4, we can achieve layering by adjusting S! Layering can be achieved without dirty effects and changing of brightness, at the same time, B values doesn’t be changed.

http://hiphotos.baidu.com/comic520/pic/item/ad74fafb43166d221b168523462309f79152d2b0.jpg

5, From above principle, If S and B remain unchanged, and H changed, a situation would be appeared as following picture! The figure above, H locates in the yellow, I pull it a little bit to red, which is layering can be achieved with red of the same brightness and thickness! Compared to the previous graph, in fact, it’s more abundant. In previous picture, there is one color in the facial skin. This one includes two colors – yellow and red, this is the reason why the later picture looks more slump. If we color this picture all in the way we talked above, it would look brilliant that beyond our visual reaction.

http://hiphotos.baidu.com/comic520/pic/item/de1811ee3d6d55fbe3b3e6916d224f4a21a4dda4.jpg

6, if we want shaded reflection, usually, we would add cool colors. The figure above presents a skill- to change H and S and to supplement B slightly, for bringing yellow, red, purple into facial skin. We can find the differences by checking picture 3 and 4.

Truth is here, now there are three levels of color, but almost no change in brightness. As long as B is unchangeable, the picture is bound to stay clean.

[II]

The following examples illustrate with another

http://hiphotos.baidu.com/comic520/pic/item/4b51d482d158ccbfa9e0258d19d8bc3eb03541bd.jpg

1, there is a square filled with pure red.and now I am going to make highlights and shadows on it

http://hiphotos.baidu.com/comic520/pic/item/4e721a66d0160924517632acd40735fae7cd3442.jpg

2, If I only change S, red becoming light, highlights would be presented in following way

http://hiphotos.baidu.com/comic520/pic/item/4b93cf01a18b87d616103ba8070828381e30fd43.jpg

3, if the only change B, making the red darker, shadow would be presented like this. As we can see, although there is a multi-levels looking, but it looks very thin for being only red in it. We take white and black these two colors as extreme poles for painting.

http://hiphotos.baidu.com/comic520/pic/item/735bfb1c8701a18bb7a682f89e2f07082938fe4c.jpg

4, if I keep S unchanged, adding only yellow, I would also get a high gloss.

http://hiphotos.baidu.com/comic520/pic/item/d7a1f1389b504fc2741220b2e5dde71191ef6d4c.jpg

5 if I only change H, I can also get a level, but it cannot be called “shadow.” for the values are very extreme.

http://hiphotos.baidu.com/comic520/pic/item/0096ce18367adab4609c8bf48bd4b31c8601e44d.jpg

6, Adjust by situation. Like here, adding yellow makes it very dazzling, so you can change the S to ease it.

http://hiphotos.baidu.com/comic520/pic/item/940ec80a19d8bc3e7844967d828ba61ea9d3454d.jpg

7, It works the same way. Adding purple can also be a change of B. it will be identified as the dark side.

NOTES

The function of HSB three values: a very high value of B will lead a dark picture, on the contract, a light one. High value of B will make a dirty picture, but B is not completely useless. With a little adding of B can endows the chosen color a accurate location. What we beginners need to concern is layering rather than light and shadow.

http://hiphotos.baidu.com/comic520/pic/item/c18e693fb80e7beccf5793562f2eb9389a506b0c.jpg

8, There is no way for you fail to handle these skills by learning pictures above for several times. In the picture above, this is photoshop color picker. H is a separate article in left large box, the right and left direction represents S, the top and bottom represent the B.

http://hiphotos.baidu.com/comic520/pic/item/339c01540923dd54e8e837dfd109b3de9d82487a.jpg

9, In the figure above, it is said color picker. Here defaults a HSV sliders, HSV and HSB is in fact the same.

http://hiphotos.baidu.com/comic520/pic/item/837b42d162d9f2d3159eb458a9ec8a136227cc0e.jpg

10, PT on the map is color picker, but it just became a triangle.

[III]

Here is another example for beginners’ confusing problem.

http://hiphotos.baidu.com/comic520/pic/item/fbc030f0f736afc36db4afd2b319ebc4b6451258.jpg

1, how to turn the yellowish brown into the lemon yellow?

http://hiphotos.baidu.com/comic520/pic/item/41b7d3504fc2d562274f405ae71190ef77c66c56.jpg

2, although yellowish brown looks like a bit deeper, darker yellow, but we won’t get lemon yellow by adding white pigment.

http://hiphotos.baidu.com/comic520/pic/item/d7a1f1389b504fc274e720b2e5dde71191ef6d59.jpg

3, the yellowish brown is a combination of red and yellow!

When it comes to HSB slide, H includes all kinds of colors. The differences between these colors can be result in proportion of three primary colors.

Three parts above are all connected.

Huion Tablet 580 Contributing Photoshop Tutorial; Realistic Beauty

Device: Huion Tablet 580

Software: Photoshop CS5

About the artist; Tao Hu is a staff from Shanxi Digital Interactive Entertainment Co., ltd. He finds it both interesting and satisfying creating things, and would love to contribute his whole life into producing any kind of art work.

Inspired by his strong sense of painting, he has reached a certain level and willing to share his way of painting by using Huion tablet 580.

Step 1, open a new drawing paper in Photoshop, and set the scale according to the scale of the screen.

Step 2, normally when we start painting, we start with the rough sketch.

Step 3, after the rough sketch, we can choose the color scheme of human skin and add to the picture.

Step 4, don’t focus too fast on the detail, instead, it’s better to roughly distinguish different areas with different colors first.

Step 5, nail the approximate places and shapes of the feature organs in the face.

Step 6, then shape the angles and structure of the face with different color lumps, please be aware of the depths of color shades.

Step 7, focus on the detail, such as the lightness of different parts.

Step 8, after roughly highlighting the specific parts, this painting is almost done, so we can regulate it for a better overall look.

Step 9, in a figure painting, the bone structure and the body scale are always among the most important factors that the artist needs to take into consideration.

Step 10, after some regulation with the lightness, apparently the skin looks more real and delicate.

Step 11, mind the shape of the eye socket.

Step 12, and also the comparison between the eyeball and the white part.

Step 13, when drawing the nose, you not only need to consider the nasal bone, nasion, nosewing, but also the link with the cheek.

Step 14, make it real with the complexion by regulating the color depth and change.

Step 15, when it comes to the mouth, you need to be careful with the difference between upper and lower lips.

Step 16, mind the color transition with the lips and complexion.

Step 17, then is the hair. The figure can easily come to life if you use the correct color to the hair, just as shown in the picture.

Step 18, adding some lighter color on the lips can also help the figure looks more vivid.

Step 19, about the background, there’s no need to highlight anything as the theme is the beauty.

Step 20, the process can be stopped at step 19, but if you like, you may also change the whole feeling by simply changing a cooler tune. It can be so different.

Hope this may help smiley
