Just bought myself a graphics tablet!! Didn’t have a lot of money, so i wanted to try out a cheaper alternative to Wacom, so i bought a Huion 10X6.25-inch tablet. Has 8 buttons, and 16 buttons right on the tablet surface that you press with the pen itself. All programable! So yeah, dats a lot of…

Thank you so much for your kind support!

disclaimer; not unboxing pick, that’s wear but its not something I feel.

AIGHT REVIEW TIEMS

I’m not a professional artist but I do draw every day with a tablet, just call me a very passionate hobbyist !

I’v started out with Wacom’s Intuos 1 more than a decade ago and moved to Intuos 4 a few years back. So if you’re wanting to read a review by a Wacom user ,this is one.

call it a crazy experiment, but instead of spending money on a new sheet and nibs for my Wacom Intuos 4, I bought a new tablet. If your jaw didn’t just drop to floor then it should. I4 is a very nice piece of equipment but its costly to maintain (at least for me it seems, mebe I just draw weird)

I got myself a slightly smaller Huion H610 Pro.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a pro, a hobbyist or a student, we all need to cut corners these days,if you want to draw on your PC and you can’t afford to toss a few hundreds at a tablet,or you’re simply new to digital art, do yourself a favor, get this tablet instead of jumping on a Wacom.

The Huion performs wonderful in all aspects for its use.

Is there a difference ?

There is, slow lines seem to get a bit jittery in my inkt work. But honestly its still doable you just have to learn how to handle it.Or simply if you don’t draw slow like I do.

Unlike wacom were merely touching the sheet will get you a line, the Huion pen wants you to press, take note of lifting your hand and drawing with the wrist it will improve the line quality greatly.

the final verdict after a week of use

They are pretty alike however I feel like I have more direct control over my Wacom and this boils down to pressure sensitivity being slightly more accurate in a Wacom. I’v made some works to compare and I’ll admit I personally see a difference, but its so very minor. If you’re in the boat for digital drawing but you think Wacom is too expensive I really do advise a Huion.

For me however, this is not the replacement I was hoping for, I was hoping to be released of the monthly costs my Intuos gives me. the Huion comes uncanny close to Wacom quality, its not 100% there yet.still, I enjoy drawing on the Huion way more then on the Bamboo fun I got on impulse… It simply feels better than the Bamboo’s grainy surface and weird/awful design.

Final verdict; its great, its not ‘the second Wacom’ but its damn great ‘bang for buck’

things that are awesome

-all the buttons work out of the box and you can customize them, but I don’t really use them, sadly enough there is no 10/8 tablet without these.

-no fucking ‘touch’ type tech, seriously the more whistles and bells Wacom puts on a tablet the more it costs and idk bout you but I don’t want any of it.

-the sheet feels awesome and doesn’t wear near as fast as a Wacom

-the pen is light and to my great joy does not have an eraser button (useless to me)

-the pen has a very light ‘click’ when you put it down, so you actually know you’re clicking a thing

-it has the best design I’v ever seen for a non Wacom tablet, suck on that Genius. In fact, it looks better then my Bamboo Fun, and its more pleasant to draw on.

cons, drawing related

-I find it slightly harder to make slower lines without jittering.

-difference in pressure levels, making control over your strokes just a tad less than a Wacom.

herp derp thats about it, wish I could have them both installed I would sketch on the Huion and finish it off on the Intuos but the drivers don’t like each other.

non drawing related

-no option to ‘jump from screen to screen’ as the wacom has, the tablet will work on 1 screen at the time, or both. No choosing that I have found thusfar. Not really a big problem imo but just want to share.

-I have no idea about the estimated survival time of this tablet. But on the flip side if it dies in a year or 2 years Huion will hopefully have a newer one out with even better tech, so unlike a Wacom dieing after warranty its less of a worry imo.

-the tablet is so very light , I’m able to hear tech if I shake the tablet so perhaps Huion should consider filling this up.

-Amazon doesn’t send to my place :I

My Huion H610 Pro arrived !

Armygad so exite, I will do a proper review in a few days but for the 20 minutes I’v had it its been a blast. I love the little ‘click’ the pen makes ,I love its form, it feels awesome (tho just like Wacom it feels like it will slip out of my hand in the summer.) The tablet is sightly smaller then my Intuos4 but thats good ,that thing is a monster anyway, extra large iirc (why did I do that /qq ) . I’ll be able to put this one in a laptop bag.

I’m not really feeling much difference then a Wacom here wow.
And all this for 60 or so bucks ,jeezes.

I did not like the green light flashing around so I covered that up,lol.

Thank you so much for your kind support!

Huion H610 Pro Review

HUION NEW GRAPHICS TABLET–PENPRO 1060PRO+

THE ONLY PROFESSIONAL SMART PEN TABLET WITH CARD READING FEATURE

Card Reading Feature

The 1060PRO+ is the Huion’s FIRST graphic tablet of PENPRO series and the FIRST tablet ever that comes with a 4GB Micro SD Card. With a  built-in 4G Micro SD card, professionals can easily save their artworks and  concentrate more on their creations. That being said, owning a 1060PRO+ means you are actually having a professional pen tablet, a 4G memory card and a Micro SD card reader. More importantly, if you feel memory size of 4G is not enough, you can change it for a bigger one. It can be extended to maximum 64GB!

2048 Levels of Pressure Sensitivity

Pressure Sensitivity is the key parameter of graphic tablet, which means that the pen is capable of telling the system the amount of pressure that being applied to the tablet. The clearest example of this demonstrates when you are drawing. Pen pressure can be used to provide the same of effect that you get with the brush or a pencil. The harder you press the pen tip on the tablet surface, the thicker or darker the line may appear. The higher pressure sensitivity, the better control of precise drawing line.

1060PRO+ has 2048 levels of pressure sensitivity, which is the highest in graphic tablet area. This tablet can create variations in line width and opacity, which makes you feel as if you are drawing with a real pen. Moreover, with 233 RPS high report rate, the tablet enables you to have an accurate and fluent drawing experience.

Active Area of 10” x 6.25”

PENPRO 1060PRO+ adopts the active area of 10” x 6.25”, which is the most popular size of the Huion product lines.

We all know that active area plays a very important role in selection of a good graphic tablet. The smaller active area, the less hand movement will be necessary to move the cursor on the screen. However, having a drawing tablet too small for your screen makes cursor jumpy and accurate selections difficult. A drawing tablet too big for your screen would slow your drawing speed, requiring too much hand movement. The active area of 1060PRO+ is neither too big nor too small, very suitable for long time use. Along with the 5080 LPI High resolution,  you can use comfortably with a big screen, resulting in very smooth and accurate lines!

8 Express Keys and 16 Soft Keys

8 physical express-keys on the left and 16 hot cells on the top of the tablet are all  customizable, which provides you more ways to tailor your software experience and raise your work efficiency.

HUION P80 Rechargeable Pen

PENPRO 1060PRO+ is equipped with HUION P80 rechargeable pen. Our rechargeable pen adopts a new and exceptionally sensitive technology capable of freeing your creativity as never before.

It combines 2048 levels of pressure with seamless responsiveness beginning at a mere single gram of pen pressure. This slim, lightweight pen is cordless and draws power from a rechargeable Li-ion battery supporting a minimum of 800 hours’ continuous use. The pen’s automatic sleep function helps extend battery life among uses.

nyctalopelope:

so after 10 years (yes, 10 years) with my good old Wacom (on the left) I decided buy a new one. My Wacom still works perfectly fine but is too small and it’s hurting my hand. Also, the pencil is heavy and the pressure… well there isn’t so. But you know I’m attached to my old stuff and I wasn’t really sure about a new tablet… But then a friend told me about Huion and the reviews were good (except for the instalation) so I thought, why not? It’s cheap (way cheaper than a Wacom of this size) and for people like me (aka people who just draw for the ‘fun of it’ not because of school or work or money I mean) it’s perfect.
I’m not really a tablet person and I mostly use my old tablet for coloration SO I didn’t really care about which tablet as long as it was a confortable one and of course was going to last. So after watching tons of test etc I decided to buy the Huion H610 Pro at first (but it’s NOT available in France…) so I bought the H610.

I spent something like 2 hours on the instalation and I feel lucky it works when I read other reviews. I used THIS method, thanks OP for sharing. All the buttons work. The pressure is good, less than it should on SAI (on the test board it works fine but on SAI it gets slower I don’t know why but will assume it’s the compatibility SAI/Huion). But it’s still pretty fast and smooth. It is very sensitive and I’m not used at ALL to that but will practice it will do I guess. The only tiresome thing (already) is the pressure to get a thicker color when painting. Apart from that it’s all good. On SAI at least.

The pressure doesn’t seem to work on Photoshop CS6. Not with the main brush at least though you get a fine line, it’s a straight one. With the painting brush it’s fine but (yeah BUT), really slow like SLOW. I don’t care that much since I don’t use Photoshop *that* much for my coloration but it is a problem so. If someone have a solution please do tell me.

So yeah, apart from what I see as minor problem for what I’m doing with it, so far so good. The pencil, even with the AAA batery is still lighter than my Wacom’s pen which is a blessing. The size is the exact same size than my persocom so I can put my Tablet on top of my persocom and it’s fine (which is also good since I used to hold my old Wacom in one hand the pen in the other and yeah after 5 hours painting it’s tiresome).

(sorry for the quality of the picture I took it with my iPhone for instagram bye)

So YEAH as I said, so far so GOOD, we will see after one month if I’m still satisfied tho, but for now I am.

Edit: Ok so sometimes the pen will keep drawing when my hand is not like a few point or a line even though the pen doesn’t touch the tablet so I don’t know if it’s because of the sensibility of my mouse or else? if someone know once again please do tell me.

Hi, thank you for your kind support with huion!
